Domestic and General (D&G) is a global company specialising in the warranty and insurance of household appliances and electronics. Responsible for designing its own customer-facing collateral, D&G’s Australia approached The Duck’s Guts to develop its Australia & New Zealand brand guidelines for visual consistency.
D&G Australia offers unique products to its European counterparts, promoted at the point of sale in many of our major retailers. To ensure a professional, consistent look at the counter and beyond, D&G tasked us with defining the design parameters of its brand and the rules to keep things on track.
The Duck’s Guts created structure and unity between the overarching D&G brand and a new product range offered by D&G Australia. We then developed a comprehensive style guide, outlining how to apply its brand assets across four product categories and all general customer-facing communication.
We helped differentiate individual products through four levelled tiers – each instantly identifiable by its colour palette and photography. Recommended photographic styles and subject matter assisted D&G in selecting images that would both appeal to its target audience and align with its brand aesthetic.
We supplied graphic elements including patterns and custom iconography to enhance D&G’s written content. Paired with our art direction on composition and layouts, D&G could feel confident in applying its brand assets on any platform.
Brand consistency. Professional presentation. Consumer trust. And a clear set of rules to ensure these qualities remain intact.
